Wollie is a proud twenty one year old from Butchulla, Kabi Kabi country, South East Queensland, Darnley Island, Boigu Island and Kaurareg nation in the Torres Straits. He lives on Gimuy Walubara Yidinji and Yirragandji country, Cairns, Far North Queensland.

 

Wollie is a volunteer at an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth Empowerment corporation called Deadly Inspiring Youth Doing Good. He is a supporter and advocate for the Uluru Statement from the Heart and From the Heart campaign, working towards the enshrining of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voice within our Constitution. This will be an historic achievement.

 

Wollie is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander advocate and educator on tiktok with a following of over 26k+. He is also an actor featuring in Indigenous Comedy TV Series "All my friends are racist" (2021).

 

We are thrilled to have Wollie as a part of the inaugural Dirrum Festival (Goodji) here in Brisbane. We have asked him to share some of his story, to speak From the Heart and school us on matters tiktok and the creation of media with a message.
