THE DIRRUM FESTIVAL

RECOGNISE | INSPIRE | LEAD

Every new student organising committee inherits this challenge:

Recognise reality, see possibilities;

Inspire intelligence, effective engagement;

Lead for a greater and common good.

Whilst the annual theme for the Dirrum Festival is ‘for the common good’, each year has its own focus. In 2019 the focus for #dirrumfestivalCBR was Faces of Change.

The Dirrum Festival reflects a culture of engagement rather than weekend or island of isolated activity. And out of this engagement and history of service to the common good, young leaders speak alongside inspirational speakers from around the world.

DIRRUM DIRRUM

@dirrumdirrum

Dirrum Dirrum is a way of seeing others and ourselves bound in respectful relationship, standing in a wide circle of compassionate engagement. It acknowledges a common ground and is an active choice for life beyond the smallness of self-interest.

dirrum dirrum
is the sound of red in Ngunnawal language:
the colour of
blood and earth.
