Dirrum Dirrum Festival is an annual student-run festival hosted by Radford College since 2013.

We aim to bring people together to hear about things that matter and be encouraged to make change. Music, food, stall holders, insightful speakers and vibrant performers make a great night.

Dirrum Dirrum is a Ngunawal word meaning 'red'. Red is the colour of land and blood, things that connect us all. The updated spelling is Dhiram - Dhirum. We thank Traditional Owner Tyronne Bell for sharing his knowledge with us.

Tyronne Bell is a Ngunawal descendant who grew up in Yass, learning traditional culture from his father Don Bell (senior). Challenging early experiences helped shape his lifelong passion for the advancement of Aboriginal issues. Tyronne has become a strong advocate for the recognition of Aboriginal culture and language, in particular the culture and language of the Ngunawal people.

The organisers of Dirrum Dirrum Fesitval 2026 chose the theme 'Making Ripples, Making Waves' to reflect our drive for small changes in our community that lead to big outcomes. In a world full of uncertainty, this theme highlights the importance of community engagement that fosters positive change.

We look towards a future where young people are encouraged to challenge their ‘normal’ and shape the world that lies ahead.

Every action, like a pebble dropped in a pond spreads its impact outwards, connecting and growing until it drives greater change.
